Ever since I was a little girl playing with my Barbies I always wanted to be a mom. So starting at the age of 12 I started babysitting and 20 years later it's still is a hobby of mine. I've put many children to bed over the years and during that time we've read lots of books together. Growing up in Iowa and spending time on my Grandparent's farm I realized there weren't a lot of kids that knew a lot about farm life. The thought of writing a children's book was put on my heart after sharing stories of my childhood adventures on the farm with the children I babysat. I wanted to combine a few of the things I love. Children, even though I have yet to have one of my own, all the farm animals and my faith in Jesus. The idea for Adventures on the Farm became a reality after my Grandma Shirley Anne passed in 2020 and the selling of the family farm. I wanted something for us to remember her by and all of the special memories we spent at the farm.

This book is dedicated to my Grandma Shirley who was a female pioneer in the agriculture industry with a love for her animals at the farm and her family. I remember my Grandma teaching me how to brush the horses hair, bottle feed a baby calf, and my Grandpa giving us rides in the tractor all around the farm. In “Adventures on the Farm”, kids will be entertained by all the animals and memories I have of visiting the farm. This book is my tribute to my Grandma Shirley and I am grateful to be part of her legacy.
